Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Stingray launched in India at RS 4.09 Lakhs. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Stingray is the latest addition to the Wagon R family to enhance the appeal among customers. Wagon R has always managed good numbers and the stingray is targeted at younger buyers who are looking for something sportier than the regular hatchback.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R stingray get new chrome finished front grill and bumpers. The head lamp and hood design are also new. To increase the sporty appeal Maruti has given skirts. On the side, Wagon R stingray get 14 inch alloy wheels and the B-Pillar is blackened. At the rear, Maruti has given clear lens tail lamps and integrated spoiler at the rear.

Maruti Suzuki has given the same interior for the stingray from the regular wagon R. The dashboard is finished in black color and the center console in Piano black finish. To help the driver, Maruti has given distance to empty and real time mileage indicator in the instrument console. Maruti has packed the Wagon R stingray with features like Multi-functioning steering wheel, Electronically adjustable rear view mirrors, New audio system, 60:40 split rear seats and projector headlamps.

For safety Maruti Suzuki Wagon R stingray comes with airbag and ABS. Maruti Suzuki has launched the stingray in three variants namely LXI, VXI and VXI optional pack. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R stingray is available in 5 colors they are red, Grey, White, silver and blue. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R stingray is powered by the same 1.0 K series engine which produces 68 PS of power and 90 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R stingray returns 20.51 Kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki is developing an all new sedan code named YL1 which is a replacement model for the aging SX4. We have already reported about the YL1 Sedan. Now Team-BHP has spied the YL1 sedan completely uncamouflaged. The YL1 sedan adopts the new age styling of the Suzuki, which we got a glimpse from the S-Cross concept and then later with the latest generation SX4.

Maruti Suzuki has given a chrome finished front grill with Suzuki logo in the middle. Headlamps are swooping backward and comes with projectors. On the side, the YL1 sedan gets a sharp muscular shoulder line, which start from the front wheel arches to the rear tail lamps. Rear get new tail lamps and bumper. Overall, the design is fresh and appealing to the younger customers.

Like the current Suzuki cars, the design of the interior is also inspired of the Swift. So, we can expect the interiors to be made of high quality materials and the features list will be strong to fight against the rivals. The YL1 sedan gives good interior space. Maruti Suzuki will localize the YL1 sedan heavily to make the price tag more attractive.

The YL1 sedan is to be powered by the same engines which power the swift siblings. 1.4 L K-series petrol engine and the 1.3 L DDIS diesel engine are the two power plants. Both engines will be mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. In the future, we can expect Maruti to introduce an automatic gearbox. The Maruti Suzuki YL1 sedan will rub shoulders against the Hyundai Verna and Honda City. Maruti Suzuki will debut the YL1 sedan in 2014.

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer. Most of the models are famous among the Indians. But there are some exceptions like the A-star and the SX4, which never got the sales going. New generation of the SX4 is coming soon. Now Suzuki has commenced the testing of the next generation A-star. Globally A-star is called Alto.

In India Ritz is the next model after A-star in its portfolio. Suzuki has already announced that both A-star and the Ritz will be replaced by a global small car. The upmarket feel of the Ritz combined with the efficiency of the A-star is a killer combination. As of now we can call the test mule as next generation A-star until Suzuki reveal the name. Next gen A-star was spotted somewhere in southern Europe and we can see another test mule along with the A-star.

Next generation A-star take design inspirations from the S cross concept. A-star get the new grill which debuted with the S-cross. Test mule is heavily camouflaged and there are not much visible except the rear door. From the exposed parts we can see that the side has a strong shoulder line like the swift and the door handles are placed in a similar to the swift.

In the rear, the tail lamp design is same from the Alto 800 in the Indian market. We expect the number plate to be placed in the hatch door along with a chrome strip on the top. The engine options will be the same for India. The European market gets a new turbo charged petrol engine. Suzuki might bring a concept model for the next generation A-star at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor show.
